What is going to Upscale standard DVDs to 720p or 1080i that will yield a clearly visible improvement when compared to standard definition when used with a DLP projector. Is there something available for about $1000.

Which, if any, of the new HD DVD Players do a good job at upscaling? Cite a Manufacturer and Model number if you have one.

I Am trying to find a upscaling DVD player that plays 720p and 1080i through component cables. My TV does not have HDMI inputs. Any good suggestions? And if you recommend one have you had personal experience with it?

If your TV has no HDMI, then you can't use an upscaling DVD player (copy protection issues make HDMI mandatory)
