How to connect dvd player to wireless network?

ricky c

I have a sony dvd player in my living room. The dvd play only has hdmi and ethernet inputs and supports Netflix. I was wondering how to connect the dvd player to the wireless modem i have in the other room. I'm completely lost.

Answer
Your DVD Player doesn't have wireless capabilities, but supports a network connection. You have several options

1. Move your router
2. Move your DVD player
3. Run a long cable to the router
4. Buy yourself one of those wireless devices that'll give you a jack right there at the player
5. Set a laptop near the player & ad hoc the network
6. Wire your entire house with network (be sure to put a jack by the player)
7. Buy a wireless dvd player & sell the one you got
8. Setup an additional router as a repeater & set it next to your player
9. Scrap the idea all together, go get a roku or a ps3 to watch netflix
10. That's bout all I got right now.

DVD using network?

residentev

I have two computers. One with DVD-ROM and the other, without. Is it possbile to play DVD on the DVD-less one using networked DVD-ROM from the other computer?

Answer
Another option is to use DVD Decrytper to extract the individual files off of the DVD, and then play them in Media Player (either locally or over the network) This way one box can become a DVD server of sorts by storing multiple movies on the hard drive.

Can you bring a portable dvd player for a child on a plane?

Heather st

does it have to be in ur checked luggage or carry on ?

Answer
You can take it in your checked or carry on luggage, but keep in mind that if you pack it in your checked luggage, you won't be able to access it during the flight. So take it in your carry on bag.

Also remember to bring headphones or earbuds for your child to use, as playing it aloud through the player's speakers would be inconsiderate and would disturb other passengers and a flight attendant would ask you to turn it off.

Take care.

Buying a portable dvd player?

poodle

I want to buy one as a present for my husband for when he flys on business (which is often) but I don't want to spend loads on it at all. What is a good deal and what do I need to look for in a portable dvd player? What features should it have and what size should it be etc.

Answer
When shopping for a portable DVD player, keep in mind how you will be using the device. For example, if you plan to use a portable solely in the car to keep the kids occupied on long road trips, then the screen size and the inclusion of an AC adapter, which will allow you to power the player via your vehicle's power outlet, are more important than the unit's weight or the life expectancy of the battery. Conversely, if you are buying a portable DVD player to take with you on long flights, look for a lightweight model with plenty of battery life. If you usually travel with a spouse or colleague, or if you have two kids, opt for a model with dual headphone jacks and a larger screen size so two people can comfortably enjoy a movie while sitting next to each other.

Mom of Thr

I don't want one that goes in between the seats as both of my kids have their own dvd play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry meant to say they both have their own dvd players.

Answer
I don't have an answer specifically to your question - but I did want to mention - a 3lb DVD player, in a 20mph crash is like 60lbs of force crashing into your child's face. There have been many instances of people dying from head injury or internal bleeding due to a free laptop being projectiled into the air.

If you're set on having the DVD players in there, make sure they are installed in a way that they will not move in a crash, and also so they dont' interfere with any of the other passengers safety.

:) Safe travels.

dvd player?

kennytucke

i have a rather expensive dvd player that wont play a certain disc without the picture breaking up, however, when i put the same disc into my computer it plays like a dream with a clear picture. whats wrong.

Answer
One possible reason, poor disc condition that can be caused by poor physical condition and / or poor recording from disc manufacturer. As the result, picture breaking may be detected in dvd player as data streaming is affected by empty memory buffer. Memory buffer (size) is bigger in computer device, and it can handle much more error correction and ensure the data streaming.
Another possible reason, if the dvd player is rather new, the optical pick-up unit (OPU) in the dvd player may be having certain quality problem. You may consider to bring the player to service centre.
Last, if the dvd disc is not original and licenced copy, some expensive dvd players in the market are known to perform poorly while playing those discs ......

Is there any DVD player in the market that can stream Netflix?

Uppili Vij

I am not looking for a Blu-Ray player and I am not looking for a streaming only Roku. :)

Answer
An Xbox can be a DVD player and can stream Netflix.
Linksys used to have a DVD player/media Extenter combo, but it may be cheaper to buy a DVD player + Roku box.

Question about multi-region DVD players?

Crazy Cupc

I want to buy one because I live in Australia so my region code is 4 but I want to buy DVDs from US because they're much cheaper but their region code is 1 so they wont work on my regular DVD player. I wanted to ask if multi-region DVD players are simple to use? Is it just a case of plugging them in and there you go you can watch R1 and R4 DVDs? Or is there more to it than that?

Answer
They're as easy to use as any other DVD player. But remember that DVDs from the USA are also NTSC format, not PAL format, so you *might* need a player that also can convert from NTSC to PAL (or a TV that can display NTSC input in addition to PAL input).

(NTSC and PAL were the two main video formats used for analog video transmission. NTSC mostly was used in the USA, PAL mostly in Europe. Even though DVDs are digital, they still had to play on analog TVs so NTSC and PAL DVDs are slightly different).

where can i buy a multi-regional dvd player in australia?

Riddler

i really wanna get some dvd's off ebay.

Answer
I don't know where to buy a multi-regional dvd player, maybe you can try to make region free DVD from your region limit DVDs, then play the region free DVD on any region limit DVD player, you can try RZ DVD COPY, it can make region free DVD from region limit DVD, it can directly copy video DVD to new DVD writeable disc, to hard disk DVD folder, or to hard disk ISO file.

Work well, easy to use, you can download RZ DVD COPY from:
http://www.rzdvdcopy.com

hope it can help you.

I kow region 3 DVDs won't play in my DVD player but will they play on my computer?

Q. I'm really into asian movies and theres some that I really want but there for region 3 and not region 1.
Will they play on my computer or would I have to buy a special DVD player?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
&
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my question it says "kow"
I meant know.
Sorry, it was a typo.

Answer
You can change the region on the DVD player in your computer. Usually, it can be changed about 5 times, then you can't change it anymore and you have to settle for the region it's on. If you're really into the region 3 DVD's it might be worth buying a second player for your computer and setting it on region 3 and leaving it. The players aren't that expensive anymore.
But you can also change the region of a lot of regular DVD players. See the links below for information on that. There doesn't seem to be a limit on the number of times you can change on a regulare DVD player, but I'm not positive about that.
You can also buy a multi-region DVD player and not worry about what region a DVD is for. Just do a search for region free DVD players or something similar.

Where can I download a DVD player for my computer for free?

Green Emot

Also could I get a specific one that seems pretty good, and give me the link of that? For some reason I can't use any of the players that came with my computer, including Dell Media Experience, Windows Media Player, or Real Player. When the title page of the DVD comes up and I hit play, it just restarts to the beginning. Any ideas about why this is happening?

Thanks to those of you who've helped and happy new year! ^_^
Could you also give me the link on where to find these?... :)
Also I need a good DVD player that's free.

Answer
I had a friend who had bought a dell and had paid for a dvd rom,
but only a cd-rom had been installed.

Right click on "my computer" then select "properties",
then select "hardware", click on "device manager"
find the dvd drive in question under "dvd/cd-rom drives"
if it lists only a cd rom drive, thats the problem, if there is an exclamation point next to the device there is a problem and it is not working correctly or may have a conflict or you may need to install a new driver.

If it is the driver you can get a new one off the install cd or online.

Hope this helps.

Can DVD player for mac play disk images?

James H

Is there a plugin or fix available to allow the standard DVD player application in mac to play disk images (mounted from .dmg)? It would be helpful and would remove the need to take all my delicate DVD's on long car trips. :)

Answer
DVD Player.app has this functionality by default. I use it all the time to check DVDs I make in DVD Studio Pro and iDVD. I also use it to time-shift rentals.

Once DVD Player is open, choose File < Open DVD Media. Choose the disk from the sidebar. You don't have to go down to the line to select folders or anything.

Alternatively, you can use Front Row to play the DVD as a disk image. First, you must create an alias of the /Volumes directory in your home folder. Because /Volumes is hidden, you can get to it by activating Finder and selecting Go < Go to Folder and typing /Volumes Option + Command + drag the icon on top of the window to create an alias in your home folder.

You can use a bunch of third party video players, namely VLC to watch DVDs stored in that format, but the concept is that it is a virtual disk, so the OS understands what it is, and what to do with it.

what is the best dvd player for mac?

ssm

Answer
Do you mean DVD player software? Or a DVD drive?

Mac OS X comes with an application called DVD Player. VLC (free download) is also a good player.

If you mean DVD drive, I'm afraid I can't be of much help since all my Macs have built-in DVD drives.

How is the blu ray player different from a dvd player?

Teacher

I have noticed that blu ray players have updates, internet, and other perks to it. I want a blu ray player for the better quality of movies, but is it more of a hassle to watch movies on it (setups, menu's, etc.) And do the HDMI wires come with most blu ray players, or do you have to buy those seperatly? Any info on this would be great. Oh yeah, I have heard the PS3 is probably the best bet for a blu ray player, but I dont like video games and refuse to buy a PS3, so please, just info on blu ray players, thank you!

Answer
Blu Ray is much better picture quality, but to get that quality you must have a 1080p TV. if you only have a 720p or lower, you might as well get a upconverting DVD player. No most Blu Rays do NOT come with the HDMI, and if you don't get it, then it is a waste on money without one. As far as PS3 and Blu Ray go, you are looking at about the same money now, but with a PS3, well you get to play games. no it is not more of a hassle, it is the same to watch as an old dvd player. Also when you use a Blu Ray player it upconverts old DVD to 720p, making your old DVD's look better. The Sound quality is much better. The big thing with Blu Ray is that is hold 50GB worth of info, so the material is "RAW" un compressed, while a old DVD holds about 8GB and the info in compressed loosing quality.

What's the differences between Blu-Ray & HD DVD Player?

VIctor

Can a regular Blu-Ray play a HD DVD?

Answer
HD-DVD was a competing format to Blu-Ray. Both are HD formats. Several months ago, HD-DVD was dropped by all its coalition manufacturers. A couple companies made players that could play both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, but those models have been discontinued due to the demise of the HD-DVD format. Unless your player specifically lists HD-DVD as a format that it supports, your Blu-Ray player will not play HD-DVDs.

I have a Ford DVD player in my car with a DVD stuck inside. How can I get it out?

I have the rear facing, roof mounted DVD player in my 2002 Ford Focus. I put a DVD in and it won't play nor will it eject. I would like to get it out. The DVD player is the type where the DVD slides in. Please tell me how I can get DVD out.

Answer
I got a CD stuck in my old Ford Escape CD player . . . the slide in type. It was a Christmas CD I had made, so it was the last thing I wanted to listen to all year long.

I finally got eye level with the player, used a flashlight and took very thin, long skinny pliers from a Brookstone tool kit (the kind that comes with the more delicate, smaller tools) . . . and I was able to grab the edge of the CD and just pull it right out. No harm was done to the player.

I never put that particular CD in the player again. I have had the most trouble with home burned CDs. I am sure you could stop by any place that installs car DVD players and ask for their help in removing your DVD too, maybe even try your Ford dealer.

Other good suggestion in involving a putty knife and tape:

how do i make my dvd player work on my pc?

joe h

i have been given a used emprex dvd dual double layer for my pc. i can play cd's, and play pre -recorded films. but when i put a blank dvd in nothing happens. my blank is a maxell dvd+rw. and on the front of the dvd player it says dv +rw. why does nothing happen. joe

Answer
You may have multiple problems.

First, any device connected to a Windows PC needs to have a "device driver" to go with it. The driver acts as an interpreter between Windows and the device, so they can communicate properly. Windows XP & Vista have many device drivers built into them, and might or might not have one for your Emprex drive.

Windows might recognize it as a generic CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, which would explain why you can play CDs and DVDs. Unless it has the specific driver for that particular drive, Windows might not treat it as a recording drive.

Next, you need software that is intended to burn recordable CDs and or DVDs. That may or may not be included with your computer. Roxio, Sonic, and others publish such software.

So you need the combination of all three items: The drive, the device driver, and suitable software to take advantage of it.

Good luck!

What would be a good DVD player download

Shyness

I'd like to know what would be a good DVD player download with a good Codec package included?

Answer
DVD has been around long enough that most of the software players available are pretty good. Theatertek has a pretty large group of devoted users in the home theater PC department, as does Power DVD and WinDVD.

Since you ask about a good codec pack, I'm assuming that you're also wanting to use the player to view other file formats like .AVI and .MP4. Power DVD, WinDVD, and Nero Showtime (bundled with the Nero Burning Suite) all come to mind as solid commercial packages. If your price range is more on the free side (these days, whose isn't?), my advice would be to download the Community Codec Pack and install it; this way, you'll be able to watch pretty much anything you want right on Windows Media Player--or on any of the provided media players in that package.

Community Codec Pack: http://www.cccp-project.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

Linux users can normally take their pick from whatever their distribution supports, and there's normally an interface to aid in finding them already on the operating system.

Some DVD recorders require that you 'finalise' the disc when all your recordings are finished. Also, not all DVD players/recorders will recognise the same type/manufacturer of DVD media.

DVD/VHS player?

jerryreed1

i want a DVD/VHS player that will record my old VSH to DVD?
is there suck thing?

if so can you guys tell me some sites that sell them?

thanks

Answer
Hi jerryreed13,

You can buy a combination VHS/DVD recorder everywhere. WalMart carries several kinds. The simplest and best way is to simply get a DVD recorder. You can find them everywhere for less then $100. You will feed the output of your VHS player into the input of your DVD recorder to copy tapes.

If you are wanting to copy pre recorded tapes you will need to bypass the copy guard. It is legal as long as you are backing up your own tapes.

Then you will need a device like "Sima T120 GoDVD". It removes the copy guard and enhances the picture. You plug your source into it and plug it into the input of your recorder.

Here is an example of one - http://www.heartlandamerica.com/browse/item.asp?PIN=54817&

Another one that will work is the Digital Video Stabilizer. They work like a charm. Go here to read about and see an example - http://www.qualitekindustries.com/vidstab.html

Now Let me get to my main point. Which one should i get? HD Player or DVD player with Upscaling? I mean does HD player upscale you to 1080p when watching regular DVDs? i am looking at the OPP DVD player, and it got pretty nice rating.

Answer
Every single credible recent review pegs 1080p upscaling as having less quality than bluray/hddvd. But only slightly less and hardly noticeable (if at all). I have not seen a single recommendation of wasting the money on a hd format player unless you are an elitist.

Best 'DVD Player' with 'HDMI' and 'Upscaling' capabilities?

James Math

I'm looking for a DVD Player with hdmi and upscaling capabilities. What is the best one that has these features and a few extras like multiregion, usb etc.

Can anyone help me?

Answer
The best upscaling DVD players today are Blu-ray players. There is little future in buying a DVD player since Blu-ray is superior to DVD and no longer significantly more expensive. Unless you don't have an HDTV consider a Blu-ray player.

The best upscaling DVD players -- those made by OPPO are no longer available new (They now make the best Blu-ray player ... the the BDP-83). If I wanted a DVD player I'd look for a used OPPO DV-981HD. It's also a great SACD and DVD-A player.

Note that upscaling quality varies with the video chip used ... and generally DVD players under about $80-$100 won't do a great job. Hence my advice to consider a Blu-ray player. With prices in the $150 range you get a good DVD upscaler, that will also play Blu-ray and "future-proof" you. To be honest, the best DVD upscaling is offered by the upper tier of Blu-ray players (those costing $200 or more), but for most users the extra quality won't be noticed.

disney world for five days with 22 people. help please?

Nicole =)

okay well me and my family are DRIVING to orlando florida disney world in march 2010 from houston texas. how long is the car ride?

well my dad says its like $40 a person for one theme park. and theres twenty-two people so yeah we can only choose one or two theme parks.
Which theme parks would you say is the one with most thrill rides or rides that just give you that adrenaline.

what should i bring on the car ride to burn time. we might rent a van beacuase theres 8 or 7 people riding in the same car as me. so i cant bring things that are huge you know what i mean?

we are also staying at the reunion resort 5 bedroom house.
theres 5 teenagers (including me)
4 or 5 kids, and like 3 or 2 babies. the rest are our parents/gma gpa.
what should i bring for us teenagers/kids to do in the hotel or house w/e when we get bored at night? im already bringing my nintendo wii but what else beacause only 4 people can play the wii at a time.

so yeah can anyone help me out here?

Answer
1) The drive is about 14 hours 25 minutes according to google maps if you take I-10 E. If you take I-20 E it will take you almost 20 hours.

2) Theme parks are much higher than $40 a person. Disney is $75 for one day admission, and Universal is around the same, because it will be a peak season, since it's Spring break. In this case - go to Universal and do the park hopper (2 parks 1 day).. It's around $84 for the day, and you get access to both parks. They have tons of thrill rides. If you have to choose just one, go to Islands of Adventure at Universal.. it has the most thrill rides. Another option is Sea World, although you might find it a waste of your one theme park.

3) In the car to burn time, bring books, your ipod, magazines, maybe a portable DVD player to watch movies. You could also sleep as well. 14 hours isn't as bad as it seems!

4) The wii will be fun. There's also always movies on the tv and good shows on - especially March break. You could also swim at night (most pools have lights!)

Hope this helps

Need Some DvD Player Help?

SpacemanSp

I want to buy a DvD player for an older TV that I can connect with my computer to stream videos with ease(I'm Not Some type of AV genius or anything) Preferably under $100. Any Advice Help or Tips or Anything.

Answer
DVD players have no inputs, so connecting to your computer ot a DVD player makes no sense unless you get a DVD drive for your PC.

You can buy a DVD player for about $30-$50.
If your TV does not have an AV input (has only RF/Coax), then you also need an RF modulator (about $20-$25).

Will blu ray discs work on older non-HD dvd player?

Mike K

We just bought a new Blu-Ray player for our home. If I get Blu-ray discs from Netflix, can I play them on my older, still working non-HD DVD player that we moved to another room?

Answer
No, Blu-ray will only work on blu-ray. Sorry

Can a Blu-Ray player also be used as a DVD player?

roborovski

I am wondering if every Blu-Ray player can play DVD's aswell as Blu-Ray discs? (I know not the other way round!)

Answer
Yes, you can play DVDs on a Blu-ray player but you can't play a Blu-ray DVD on a normal DVD. The Blue-Ray player would actually "up convert" or interpolate the missing lines/information from the old DVD's. Blu-Ray players are backward compatible, so your old DVD5 and DVD9 are still good. Just a small suggestion, if you are considering a Blu-Ray player, might want to just go ahead and get a PS3 since it's a player plus a lot more....

Jeb

I have Windows XP and Windows Media Player 11, when I put in a DVD there is sound but no video how can fix this?

Answer
in order for windows media player to play dvds properly, they need a video codec - the easiest way is to find a free dvd player off the internet and then you will have the codec installed on your computer after that install - hope this helps as I dont have any suggestions for good free software but check at cnet downloads and download dot com for possibilities and make sure they are totally free, not free to try shareware

If my dvd player has progressive scan do I need a 720p or 480p TV?

MCisEVIL

If I don't need it should I opt for it anyway? I've narrowed my TV selection down to two TV's about 500$ each. One is not a big brand name but is 720p. One is a Samsung and is 4 inches bigger but not LCD. Both are flat screen and both are widescreen. Both are HDTV's. What should I do? Also the no name is a flat panel and the Samsung is a SlimFit tube and 16" deep.

Answer
First of all, to answer the original question, a progressive scan DVD player runs at 480p (if you're using the progressive scan feature). That's what the "p" in 480p actually stands for. Normal tv's and dvd players scan, or refresh, the image on the screen every other line at the time, meaning that it will change lines 1,3,5,7,9, etc., then go and change lines 2,4,6,8,10, etc. before going back to the odd lines. This is done very fast, so it's not really perceptible. A progressive scan dvd player in our example would change lines 1-10 every time, theoretically giving a clearer, cleaner picture. However, this will not work on a standard tv. It requires either an EDTV (480P) or HDTV (720p, 1080i, 1080p). The difference between progressive scan and non-progressive scan isn't all that great.

Now, for the tv part of your question, one major clarification is needed. 480p is NOT an HDTV, no matter what the box or the salesperson tells you. To be an HDTV, a tv must be 720p, 1080i, or 1080p. The "i" in 1080i is referring to interlaced lines (the even versus odd lines as above). So right there, the capability of the no-name tv is higher. As far as which is better, that is hard to say, without seeing the televisions. If the tv is a flat panel (and not just flat screen), meaning that it is only a couple inches thick, it is either an LCD tv (should have a plastic-type screen) or plasma (glass screen, and if you look closely you can see the red, green, and blue phospors, just like on a tube tv. I would probably be inclined to go with the no-name HDTV flat panel, but you should be aware that you may be sacrificing quality and durability for HDTV capability.

Hope this helps!

I have a 720p tv, thinking about buying a dvd upconverter, will a 1080 dvd player correctly upconvert to 720?

keyshawn_2

Answer
A dvd player that upconverts to 1080p will work on your tv that is only 720p because the dvd player should do every resolution up until 1080p so it should do 480p/720p/1080i and 1080p

You should have no issues.

portable DVD player?

.:

I want to buy a portable DVD player.

Must have 10 inch screen or LOWER
Great quality
Well known company [not a must but I'd like so]

Answer
Everyone should have a portable DVD player because they can be hooked up to a TV like a regular DVD player.

I bought a LG® Portable DVD Player (2007) with 7" Screen LPA837, a CENTRIOS⢠(2006, The Source/old Radio Shack) brand 7" PORTABLE DVD PLAYER, and a Casio EV-680 3-inch portable TV.

I have been overall safisfied with all 3 products, and like taking my DVD player to go through a lot of CDs in libraries.

I just bought the LG because I'm loyal to Sears, and this was the only model with a USB port at Sears. I don't like to shop.

A must for a portable DVD player is a USB port, so I can enjoy MP3/WMA music, JPEG images, or DivX MPEG videos from my computer on my DVD player or on my TV using the audio/visual jacks.

My Centrios battery lasted 2 hours, and the smaller LG batter lasts 3 hours, 20 minutes. An annoyance is my LG won't charge while I'm watching it, but the Centrios can do both at the same

My LG better for viewing JPEG images because often to fill the screen with a portrait, I have to put the DVD player on its side, but the shapes and locations of jacks on the Centrios make this difficult. time.

I still wish my portable TV (maybe even a radio) were built into my portable DVD. player, and my last 2 links list some; however Synco is a Chinese company that I don't know, and the player referred to in Yahoo Answers has no USB port.

My Casio TV has been good too, but the rechargeable batteries only last about 1 hr., so I use a universal adapter for both my Casio TV and cell phone, and just find places to plug it in. I wish it had a radio because batteries do last a long time using radios. Portable TVs are hard to find in stores, so you should use the internet.

The 3 inch screen on the Casio TV is too small for watching any sports because the ball is small. Reception is a problem in about half of the locations you try. The biggest problem with my Casio TV is it is not stereo, which can make it harder to listen too, so I just take out the earphones usually.

Make sure you don't get told you are stealing power. At $0.11/kWh in Alberta, Canada, it costs hardly anything, but it's the principle.

Portable DvD player with USB?

rutteger1

I need a protable dvd player that has a USB port to view photos on- can you recommend a good/cheap one?

Answer
This is not a DVD player, but it might suit your needs better. Its called Cinepal, and it's made by Aluratek. It's an 8.9" mp4 player with 4GB of storage that has a USB port for flash drives and portable hard drives, an SD card slot and no DVD player. If you know how to rip DVDs to divx or MP4 or other formats, you may find this an attractive alternative, as it has a great picture and is much lighter than a DVD player.

You can watch an ad at http://www.aluratek.com/downloads/APMP100F.swf
The product page is at http://aluratek.com/product_info.php?products_id=108&display=All

They sell it for $164 but it's available elsewhere for less. Tiger had it for $120, but I don't think that's valid anymore.

Windows 7 DVD Maker audio problems?

SNSDismyLi

So I have this movie and then I'm trying to make it into a DVD. When the DVD is finished I put it in a DVD player and then the menu shows up but there's no audio. When the video starts playing there is no audio. It's about an hour and 30 min long movie and it is an AVI. file. I tried to change the format to mp4 but it didn't even let me put in the software. Please help. Does anyone know another software that's free that doesn't like watermarks or only does like 5 minutes of the video?

Answer
Maybe format issue, windows 7 dvd maker only support some special movie format, not all, I think the windows 7 dvd maker can't decode the audio data in your avi movie file and the burned dvd is no sound. And you can try a better dvd maker software, I am using RZ DVD Creator, it can directly convert any formats movies to video DVD and burn to any DVD disc(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), such as convert avi to DVD, mp4 to DVD, etc, the burned video DVD can be played well on DVD player. You can yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, easy to use, hope it can help you.

Is there a good dvd burning software that is free?

John A

Is there a good dvd burning software that is free? where I can rip dvds and actually burn movies on to blank dvd discs? not burn a video file to a blank dvd disc as in like a memory stick, but actually burn a dvd file like mkv, flv, avi, mpg,or mp4 files (like dl'd from internet types) on a blank dvd disc, where i can pop it in my dvd player and watch the movie, and not have an error message. like error can't read disc or just plane error? help please, I don't want to buy a dvd burning software, I got blank dvd's, movie files, and even a dvd burning drive just lacking the software. help me!

Answer
free software?
I know that windows user can burn dvd with Windows 7 DVD Maker for free, while Mac user can use iDVD, because they are free.

but free dvd burning software has some limitation, for example, some video formats are not supported.

I am using one good dvd burning software named DVD Creator, and it can burn movies to dvd for playback on home dvd player. And it's free to try, so you could download it for evaluation by yourself:
