Is there any point in buying an expensive DVD player?

zarreff

I bought my DVD player from walmart 4 years ago for 20 bucks and it still works perfectly. All DVD players play DVD's so why would any pay more than 20 bucks for one?

Another thing too; if anything happens to my DVD player well it was only 20 bucks...other people spend over 100 bucks on theres so if that goes out they gotta shell out more dough.

Answer
At this point, no.

It's more financially better to buy a Blu-Ray player as it plays both DVD and Blu-Ray and it can usually upscales the DVD's movies and shows or whatever.

Or if you are a gamer, you should buy a PS3 or an Xbox 360. It has the DVD capability that you might be interested in.

What portable dvd player should we buy?

We are going on a vacation this summer and since we will be in the car for a while we would like to get the kids dvd players. We did have the kind where there are 2 tvs and they attach to the headrest. They just don't work at all now. Not sure what happened to them. We were thinking about getting them each there own dvd player to hold now. Our girls are 2 and 5 though. Any suggestions on good kid friendly dvd players? I'm not really a huge fan of the fisher price kid dvd players. We also thought about just getting special covers for dvd players but I'm not sure where to find them.
