Where can I get a free decoder for dvd player for windows xp

Answer
VLC http://videolan.org
Has nearly every codec under the sun built in.
Can play DVDs easily and its free.

Is there a dvd maker program I can use for windows xp?

Q. I have windows movie maker 2.1 and have windows xp. I don't have vista, which comes with windows dvd maker. My movie maker doesn't give me the option to make a root menu page, so I can burn it to play on a computer but not a tv dvd player. Is there another program that I can use to make dvd's with the movies I make?

Answer
there is a better choice and an easy way, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can create standard video DVD from any movies with DVD title menu and chapter menu, i have used it, it can directly convert and burn any videos to DVD(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-DL, DVD+DL, etc), such as avi to DVD, wmv to DVD, mpg to DVD, etc.

It can burn multi videos to one disc, and can auto fit the size.

Work well on my computer, easy to use, i like it, following is a step by step guide about video DVD creation:

Hope it can help you.

Ubuntu Does not Work?

best dvd player ubuntu 11.04 on cd dvd burning application for ubuntu 10.04
best dvd player ubuntu 11.04 image
Q. I downloaded Ubuntu 11.04, and I tried to use it through a USB. It would start, claim that it would load, do the weird Jingle then continue and freeze. It worked on my dad's other computer, but not on mine.

Then, I used a CD. It worked on my dad's computers AGAIN, yet when I tried it got to the part where it said "Try" or "Install", I pressed Try, and it froze, with the cursor going around and around endlessly. I think I have a problem with my Graphics Card. What should I do???

System Information:
Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4 GHZ
4 GB RAM
Windows Vista 32 Bit (My Processor is 64 Bit Compatible too)
ATI Radeon 3400 HD Series (I do not use my computer for gaming...) 256 MB Dedicated RAM
HD Screen Resolution 1600x900
CD + DVD Player + Blue-Ray Player too
Sony Vaio FW180D

What should I do? Where can I update my graphics card if that is the problem? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Yeah, I think Ubuntu tests the graphics card at one point, because when i first tried to install Ubuntu on my old computer, it wouldn't work. The problem wasn't in the card not being supported, in was in that half of the card's capacitors were blown (no wonder Windows XP had been especially slow...)

Answer
The real answers are at ubuntuforums.org. Post this question over there.

I do like 11.04, very solid. I have had issues with the ATI Radeon.

At this point I suspect your DVD reader might not like the burned CD, but the people in Installations and Upgrades could quickly find something that works for you.

Good luck. Windows free now for over 7 years.
