Ok so im gonna buy a home theater system for my room . this one ( http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_018W885740110001P?vName=Computers+%26+Electronics&cName=Audio+%26+Home+Theater )
do i have to use that dvd player or can i use my vhs\dvd player instead?

Also, does anyone know if that is a good deal?

Answer
You will more than likely have to use the one that is built in. Sorry to say but COBY is a cheap SONY knock-off and all-in-one home theater-in-a-box systems might seem like a good cheap deal but in the long run if something ever breaks down on it like lets say the dvd drive goes on it then you have to send the whole thing to get repaired and you're out of a surround system at the same time.

Get a seperate receiver with speakers and that way you will be able to hook up your vhs/dvd player to it along with any other audio/video device you have or will have in the future.

Trust me it will be worth spending an extra 200$ for a durable quality brand like JVC or Panasonic or SONY.....you don't need to get the best of the best if you're looking for something on the cheap side, then you should be able to find something by the brands I mentioned. Maybe not at K-Mart though, might have to go at a best buy or circuit city.

My DVD player has audio but the picture only plays in black and white. What is the deal?

I have a LG Scarlett tv with a Magnavox dvd player. The cables are the red, yellow and white ones. And yes, audio matches with audio and video matches with video. I even went out and bought a new DVD player and the same problem occurs.

New DvD player? still got the receipt? return it to exhange it for a different brand. Sharp or Sony, cant go wrong.
