its not illegal to remove or modify the dvd disable function. but its illegal for you to be distracted by the player or radio or gps while driving as you could also be ticketed for distracting other drivers if they are able to view the movie through your windows at night...look it up. google stories about morons watching porn who are now registered sex offenders because children in other cars where able to view the screen. more importantly you asking how to disable a feature that is there to help you keep your kids safe while your driving. just because they hate waiting ? long trips are also a good time to talk to your kids too . so i wont be telling how to do it. my kids where allowed to bring books and a small clip on book light.

the radio is all touch screen with nav and all that mess...but my thing is that it has a dvd player but the truck has to be in park in order to watch it...who really wants to sit in park to watch a movie, the whole point of a in car dvd player for the passengers to have something to do while whoever drives them..
so my question is...are there any fast ways of overriding this safety, weather it be taken a laptop (because the truck as the plug in ports) or is there maybe an app for an iphone that will allow say netflix to be viewed on the screen or a dvd disk for that matter...any help or any info on this would be great...

I have a question about my car's dvd player?

I have DVD players in my headrests in my 2012 Lincoln Navigator. Should they be able to play through my car's audio system and headphones. I can only get them to do it with the head phones. If I can does anyone know how to change it to play with my audio system speakers.

i think that's the way there set up but if you google the type of dvd player it is you should be able to download the owners manuel or if its a factory set up look in the manuel or the setting in the head unit itself.if your driving and listening to your stereo its possible for someone to watch a movie in the back seat with the headphones.if the rear Monitors were playing a dvd threw the speakers for sound your unable to see the screen in the front so it defeats the purpose of you having to hear it. listen this is just a good guess and i may be wrong. its a brand new ride go back to the dealer with this question.with the payments on a ride like that they should shine your shoes wile your there.hope this helps.

New VHS VCRs in 2012?

I still have a cabinet of about 200 videotapes which have never come out on DVD. I value these movies enough to warrant the shelf space, but watch them infrequently enough not to warrant transfer to DVD-R. Luckily, the VCR I am using is a prosumer grade JVC S-VHS. It's very well built and I keep it plugged into the TV but unplugged from the wall to avoid somehow wearing out the power supply or fluorescent display. But, it's from 2000 and I know one day it will go dead. So, what are my options going into the future? Are any manufacturers still making high quality machines, such as for archival use?

Bluray Player or DVD Player?

Hi, I have a question regarding movie players. In your opinion, should I buy a Blu-Ray Player or a DVD Player. I know a Blu-Ray player is much more expensive as well as the movies, however, if I remember correctly I can also play DVD's on a Blu-Ray player and it will upconvert it to 1080i. So my plan is to get regular movies on DVD and play it on the Blu-Ray player and if there's a movie like Avatar or 2012 the movies that just has to be watched in HD I'll get the Blu-Ray Version of the movie.

So Basically what I'm asking is:

1) Will a Blu-Ray player play both DVD and Bluray so I can get movies I like on Blu-Ray and regular movies on DVD?

2) Which is better? To get the Blu-Ray player or DVD player?

How long does it take for Geek Squad to repair a Home Theater DVD Player?

geek squad can't help you find your way out of a we paper bag. they are truly useless there like a warranty they just make you feel more secure about a product you spend a lot of money for that you don't really understand. you know like a emergency exit on a airplane....
