I installed the head unit DVD player to my car, i did not connect the wire to my e brake, so it will not let me watch DVDs what so ever, does anyone know how to bypass this completely so that i can play DVDs while driving? Thank you.

Answer
Don't. It's illegal and unsafe to have a DVD player going where the driver can see it, which is why it only goes on (when installed properly) when you are parked with the parking brake on.

How do you look at your portable dvd player in the car without the car losing power?

How can you use the cigarette lighter for your dvd player without affecting the car battery?

Answer
You can't - unless the engine is running, using anything connected to the car's electrical system draws power from the battery.
