The second link is apparently is the 'next years release' version of the previous one. The first one is well reviewed where as the second doesnt have as many but being the new version of the first one it should be as good/better? Just wondering whether its worth paying the extra £13 on top of the wireless adapter.

I would not purchase a Sony product. I never had a Sony product that have lasted me more than 3 years. When DVD first came out I purchase a Sony DVD player model 7000 and the following year the 7700 both cost me over $1,100 each. The first HDTV in the market by Sony, a 34" CRT HDTV for a price of $6,400. If you read yahoo questions you will find many Sony items with issue. My first Blu Ray disc player is by Panasonic, model BD-10. It is over 4 years old and played over 300 Blu Ray disc movies without one issue. When AVATAR came out many player had an issue playing the movie including Sony. My Panasonic had no issue at all. Hope this will help you out.

I just ordered A Bronx Tale, and the first two Godfathers (the newer Coppola restoration ones, I have the old grainy ones)

New VHS VCRs in 2012?

I still have a cabinet of about 200 videotapes which have never come out on DVD. I value these movies enough to warrant the shelf space, but watch them infrequently enough not to warrant transfer to DVD-R. Luckily, the VCR I am using is a prosumer grade JVC S-VHS. It's very well built and I keep it plugged into the TV but unplugged from the wall to avoid somehow wearing out the power supply or fluorescent display. But, it's from 2000 and I know one day it will go dead. So, what are my options going into the future? Are any manufacturers still making high quality machines, such as for archival use?

Is the Macbook Pro worth the money?

Im thinking lf buying a laptop since it is ny senior year and college is around the corner and im thinking of buying a Mac. i don't really want a macbook air since its so thin than it looks like it would break easily and it doesn't have a dvd/cd player. So is the Macbook Pro worth the money? i don't need the obe with retina display so im thinking of just either the 13 inch or 15 inch. is it worth to add the Extra $600 for 2 inces of screen size?

I would say so, I own a late 2011 13.3" MBP and I absolutely love it. It's by far the best computer I have ever owned, plus OSX is amazing and I love the fact that I don't get viruses. I take mine to school with me and it can handle all the requirements that it needs to do for my classes. Not to mention that the build quality is top notch and it is very thin and light. As for the hardware (On the 13in) it is pretty good but you will get the same specs for almost half the price with a PC. The processor can either be a i5 or a i7 and of which I recommend the i5 due to the fact there isn't much difference between the i5 and the i7. It has 4gb of ram standard but it can go up to 8gb for the official limit and 16gb for the absolute max. NEVER buy extra ram from Apple, you can buy it much cheaper from other places and upgrade it yourself. Now it doesn't have dedicated GPU, instead it uses Intel's integrated graphics which for the Mid 2012 model is a HD4000 chipset. Intel's integrated graphics are extremely good for integrated graphics and is comparable to low to mid range dedicated GPUs. So if as long as you do light gaming and don't play super graphic intensive games like BF3 on it then you should be fine. The RAM and the hard drive are completely upgradable and what some people do is put 8gb of ram and add in a SSD for a extremely fast hardrive. The battery life on Macs are also amazing, I get roughly 7 hours on mine when browsing or watching a few YouTube videos. If you need some Windows programs like MS Word you can actually get Microsoft Office for the Mac which has things like Word, Outlook and Excel etc. Macs can also dual boot operating systems so you can run Windows on it if you want. It has a terrific keyboard which is backlit and I gotta say it's one of the bets ones I have used.

Now for the 15" vs the 13", the 15" version as you said is quite a bit more expensive but it does come with a quad core i7 processor and a dedicated GPU which if it is the 2012 model has a Nvidia GT 650M which is a very good graphics card and can handle games like Battlefield 3 in the 40 fps range on mid settings. It has better built in speakers as well and you also have the option for extra money to get a highres screen for the 15" which can be glossy or Anti-Glare. The 15" is a bit heavier, so you would need to see if you would be okay to carry it around Collage. So depending what your needs are should be your deciding factor with the 15" vs 13". I personally prefer the 13" but thats just me. Depends solely on what you want and need though.

So in conclusion I think it is absolutely worth it, OSX is amazing, specs are good, great build quality and battery life, and just a pure joy to own. It all comes down to your personal preferences though. I hope you are happy with your decision either way. Hope I helped!

Well the i7-3930K CPU alone is about $600, but I highly doubt you need it's powers. A computer with an i5-3570K ($240) will probably be more than what you need for a CPU.

That being said, even for a computer with an i7-3930K this is a bit overpriced. And the video card is crap.


I suggest you build your own, it's not that hard , it's quite easy as a matter of fact.

I know nothing about computers. I have a Mac Os x ver 10.8.3, How do I know I have it? What does it do? and How do i get it?

Huh? You can't claim you have it and then ask if you have it.

That's like "I have ten bucks. How do I know I have it?"

In fact, your computer has that, not you. It is software. It is Mountain Lion. All Mac OS X have code names like this....

10.0 = Cheetah
10.1 = Puma
10.2 = Jaguar
10.3 = Panther
10.4 = Tiger
10.5 = Leopard (released 2007-10-26)
10.6 = Snow Leopard (released 2009-8-28)
10.7 = Lion (released 2011-7-20)
10.8 = Mountain Lion (released 2012-7-24)

Go to the top menu bar, Apple logo > About This Mac. In that small window, you can see what the computer has. All Mac computers built after 2012-7-23 have Mountain Lion (OS 10.8.x).

Can I make it to pro tennis?

I'm 14 years old and I started playing tennis about a year and a half ago after going to Wimbledon for the first time. I fell in love with the sport, I think about it day and night and now my ultimate dream is to go pro. In my club they say i'm talented and I've been called 'Federer' cause of my playing style like his. Of course they say i have things to work on, mainly serve and volleys but I am willing to work. I am going to start LTA tournaments and hopefully work my way up. I heard that Sam Querry's first international tournament was the junior US open where he lost in the quaters against andy murray so I have some time right? Nice and Informative answers appreciated, no hate please. Thanks.

It is very, very tough [for ANYONE] to do well in the "big leagues," so try to keep your eyes open for occupations (jobs) that
a. You're good at, and
b. You enjoy doing,
in case tennis doesn't pan out the way you hoped that it would.

I have no idea how far you'll go in tennis. A lot depends on your support system, your coaches, your drive and willingness to work, sportsmanship, winning record, etc etc etc. If you've played other "ball sports" before your started tennis, that should help a bit.

You will need to work very, very hard, because a number of young people you'll be going up against will have started tennis several years before you did. Some of them will get tired of it and quit, of course. You and your coaches are going to have to do everything correctly, which is not easy.

There are a number of pitfalls you must conquer (or just avoid) along the way. Do not try to do everything by yourself. It's inefficient, and it just plain does not work.

The ATP World Tour has about 2000 players in the singles ranking list at the moment. The vast majority of them are not allowed to participate in the qualies for the Grand Slam events:

The media tends to spend all their time talking about players in the top ten or so, and ignore the other 1,990 players. They don't want to "disappoint you" with the reality that becoming as successful as Federer is fairly similar to winning the lottery.

Nice of your club members to compliment you prior to playing your first tournament match. Try not to pay much attention to people who don't understand how difficult tennis really is. At least they're being nice, that's always good :-)
