Anyone know how to hook up a separate DVD player and VCR player?

I am trying to hook up separate DVD and VCR players to my mom's old TV. The DVD player and VCR player works fine separtly with the TV, but I have been trying to figure out how to hook them both up to the TV and work. Because the TV is old it does not have the hook ups in the back, so she bought a converter that hooks up to the TV that provides the hook ups.

I tried to hookup my DVD/VCR player to her TV. The VCR part worked fine, but when we would turn it to DVD, the converter shuts off.

I know that the red and white wires hook up the audio, and the yellow wire hooks up the vidio, but I don't know what the other outlets are. On the back of the DVD player there is a green outlet with a Y next to it, a blue outlet with a Cb/Pb a red outlet with a Cr/Pr, a coaxial and an S-vidio outlet. The DVD player just has vidio and audio in put and out put outlets.

Answer
you should be able to hook it up like this

coax from cable to input on VCR then out to TV use your DVD RCA jacks for DVD to VCR make sure you have the DVD out going to the VCR in. When you're ready to play a DVD you should be able to tune to whatever channel you have it set for and watch. Good Luck.
