I must have lost that part on the dvd/cd player so now every time I try to play a disk in it, it makes this weird grinding sound like the disk is sliding around while spinning. I have a gpx cd/dvd/karaoke player and I want to see if they have those parts, but I'm not sure what its called.

It is called a clamper.
If it is a door that opens the top rather than a slot or drawer, I would (and have), eliminate the clamper and replace the bottom clamper type spindle with a tri-ball one, from a PS1 or portable CD/DVD player.

What you will really want is a multi-format karaoke player. Only a fraction of available karaoke music is available on DVD. The most song titles by far are found on CD+G discs.
