My child's Videonow Jr. player is not working properly and they do not sell them anymore so I can't replace it. The screen is dark and there are vertical lines distorting the picture. I have heard that it's laser may need to be re-aligned, anyone have any experience with this or have any other tips they can share? It does not need new batteries and the disks we have are all clean and scratch-free. Thanks!!

Answer
Hasbro has a customer support page...
I would give them a call ---
they have a 1-800 number for anything
relating their products

your player is still in stock and can be found here...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Playskool-Video-Now-Jr-Player-Blue-NEVER-OPENED-NEW_W0QQitemZ300271859293QQcategoryZ101613QQcmdZViewItem

{ if your player cannot be fixed
and you would want an alternative }

My suggestion to you would be
to consider the
Fisher-Price Kid Tough Portable DVD
if you must replace the one you have

It is
much more durable and
just recently came out

I have had another person ask about this player
and have given it rave reviews ---
you can see my detailed answer [with links]

Does anyone know of a good portable DVD player for a preschooler?

Jacque

My son is almost 4, and in the last year he has broken 3 portable dvd players and 2 full size ones. He does not break them on purpose, but we give him two hours a day to watch movies and he is a very independent child so he likes to work things for himself. Usually the door breaks, that holds the DVD in place. That is our most common problem. We are trying to find a DVD player that would not break as easily, that we could buy him for Christmas. We were thinking about the Fisher Price Kids Tough DVD player but I have read bad reviews on it lately. Any Ideas?

Answer
Buy a cheap one with a extended warranty that covers accidental damage. They will just exchange it for a new one when it breaks.
