Windows media player cannot play dvd??

("lady in pink" already asked this, but as the answers she got still don't solve my problem i'm asking it again)

"windows media player cannot play dvd video. you might need to adjust your windows display settings. open the display settings on control panel and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality setting."
I DID ALL THAT BUT I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND MESSAGE. HELP!

i have windows vista and i have all the codecs... i used to be able to watch dvds on my computer but from one day to another this message appeared.
HELP PLEASE!
i have all the codecs! why do you tell me to install them? this happened from one day to another... my codecs didn't disappeared...
and i don't wanna use the VLC player!
i want to use the windows media player!

No worry.Don't use Windows Media player to play dvd movie. Use VLC player instead. download VLC player free here: http://www.videolan.org

I cannot play any DVD on Windows Media Player 11
on Vista
an Error appears says

""Windows Media Player Cannot Play DVD..You Might Need to Adjust your Screen Resolution or Display Properties""

my screen resolution is the Highest
1024 x 768 pixels

if I'll use the Low ,Lower or the Lowest
it doesn't fit on my screen


What should I do....Please Help Me..

You do not want an alternative player. Why not. Windows Media Player sucks and I could go on a trip around the world when I was given a dollar for everytime somebody had trouble with wmp. You have to download all kind of codecs etc and then you still can't be sure. Leave wmp alone as soon as possible and make your live easy.
I will recommend an alternative player anyway.. Gomplayer. It is free and plays all file types, audio, dvd's without having to download anything.
Go to preferences -- Others -- select All File Types and Codecs.
As a nice bonus you can make nice pictures (screen captures) of the video (DVD) you are watching.
Right click on player for menu then Control Panel (F7). Click on CP or hit F7. Now youl can make screen captures.
It is up to you whether to keep on struggling with wmp or download Gomplayer
